COVID-19 Recovery Fund Grant Application

United Way of the Eastern Panhandle (UWEP) has launched a recovery fund to support the immediate and emerging needs of our community as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic. These needs may include, but are not limited to, food, emergency shelter, transportation, prescriptions, medical supplies, utility and housing bills, childcare, and mental health services.

The UWEP COVID-19 Recovery Fund will provide flexible resources to organizations in our region working with individuals that have been adversely affected by coronavirus and the economic consequences of this pandemic. The Fund is designed to expand local capacity to address all aspects of the outbreak as efficiently as possible.

Donations to the Fund will be granted to organizations in Berkeley, Jefferson, and Morgan counties that directly support local residents and families who are most affected by the health, economic and social impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Funds will also be directed to 2-1-1 and the Regional Resource Connection (RRC). 2-1-1 is a local information and referral hotline that connects people to essential health and human services. The Regional Resource Connection is a partnership between the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHR), Telamon, and United Way of the Eastern Panhandle. The RRC links people to social and community services and coordinates efforts to provide households with assistance when state or federal aid is not available or insufficient.

Any nonprofit organization, including schools and government agencies, serving the West Virginia counties of Morgan, Berkeley and Jefferson will be eligible to apply for grant funding through the UWEP COVID-19 Recovery Fund.

100% of donations to United Way of the Eastern Panhandle's COVID-19 Recovery Fund will go directly to relief efforts. There are no administrative fees associated with the Recovery Fund.
