Did you know that one of the top predictors of academic achievement is the number of books in a child’s home? Yet 61% of low-income children have no books at home.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, more than $2 billion is spent each year on students who repeat a grade because they have reading problems. 

The Educational Testing Services reported that students who do more reading at home are better readers and have higher math scores; however, students read less for fun as they get older.
