Press Release: Grant Application Workshop

UNITED WAY ANNOUNCES GRANT WORKSHOP

United Way of the Eastern Panhandle Hosts Workshop to Kick Off New Grant Cycle

MARTINSBURG, WV – United Way of the Eastern Panhandle (UWEP) has announced a new grant application cycle set to open on January 29, 2018. Any 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, including schools and government agencies, that serve the West Virginia counties of Morgan, Berkeley and Jefferson are eligible to apply for grants funded by UWEP.

United Way will offer two grant opportunities in this cycle. Community Impact grants are available for requests over $5,000 and LIVE UNITED grants are for $5,000 and under. Each will have different application and reporting requirements.

An organization may submit multiple applications for separate programs. However, any funded program may receive only one Community Impact or LIVE UNITED grant per UWEP’s fiscal year which runs from July 1 to June 30.

“All grant proposals must align with our impact areas of education, income, health and basic needs," commented Penny Porter, UWEP’s CEO. “We look forward to partnering with local programs that align with our strategies and goals to create lasting change in our community.”

A grant application workshop is scheduled for 9 a.m. on January 26 at the United Way office located at 24 District Way, Suite 201, Martinsburg, WV 25404.

"Attending the workshop is not required, but it is highly recommended," Porter said.

To register for the workshop, email Linda Wells at lwells@uwayep.org by January 25.

The grant application period will run from January 29 through March 2. Applications will be available on UWEP's website at uwayep.org.
