United Way of the Eastern Panhandle’s annual Day of Caring is a community-wide event
benefiting non-profit organizations in Berkeley, Jefferson, and Morgan counties. Each year the Day of Caring, which is held on the second Tuesday of September, brings together generous, community-focused people with a common mission of helping our local organizations create a positive impact on the lives of children, families, and seniors.
Individuals and volunteer teams from companies, schools, local service clubs, and other groups, work together to complete projects and provide services that nonprofits do not otherwise have the time or resources to tackle. Projects range from reading to children at child care centers to providing repairs at the homes of the elderly to gardening and landscaping.
Everyone is invited to participate as a volunteer.
The next Day of Caring is scheduled for Tuesday, September 9, 2008.
To sign up as an individual or organize a group of friends and co-workers to volunteer as a team, contact Trina Bartlett at 596-5529 or uwepdci@comcast.net
