String Program |
The following volunteers are being sought:
1. Mentors who have music knowledge, ideally string experience and /or read music to assist students in need of extra assistance.
2. Seeking legal help to obtain nonprofit status.
3. Retired teachers who can work as ushers for the string concert program.
4. Volunteers who can supervise students who are not on stage performing.
5. Individuals who can tune string instruments.
Also, musically trained volunteers are needed for the following evening classes:
- Eagle String classes 6 to 8:5 at Eagle School
- Tuesday High School orchestra 7 to 8:30 at Martinsburg HS Band Room
- Thursday Beginner and advanced orchestra 6:00 PM

The following volunteers are needed:
1) Senior Center front desk greeters
2) Lunch volunteers to serve lunch at the Senior Center, wrap silverware, maintain coffee and drinks, and socialize with the participants (must be friendly and a good hugger to qualify).
3) Clerical assistance with filing and record keeping
4) Transportation assistance to take seniors and disabled individual run essential errands.
5) Volunteers to assist with respite care for seniors and the disabled (in home and at the Center.)

The Resource and Drop In Center, on Winchester Avenue in downtown Martinsburg, is in great need of volunteers. The Center offers a variety of services promoting recovery and advocacy. Volunteering services vary from peer support to assisting someone access resources throughout the community. The Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 4:30. A lot of interesting groups happen here and they are always looking for innovative ideas and volunteers to collaborate to make recovery happen. |

Volunteers are needed to provide general office support, read aloud in the pediatric waiting room, and greet and direct patients. Volunteers are particularly needed during after schools hours and during the summer. Volunteers need to be at least 15 years of age. The greatest need is for volunteers to read children's stories in the pediatric waiting room. |

The Arts Centre is seeking volunteers to help maintain the facility, the former Federal Building and Post Office: mowing in the summer, shrubbery trimming, general cleaning, gallery upkeep (painting walls & pedestals between exhibits). Help with receptions is also appreciated.

Volunteers for the WV Wine & Arts Festival – May 24 & 25 at Boydville Estate - are also being sought. Set-up, ticket sales, kid’s activities, clean-up. Volunteers enjoy free admission to the festival and live music.

Earth Day Volunteers – April 19 & 20. Kid’s activities and general help with classes and clean-up. Volunteers may sign up for a two-hour shift either day.
