GIVE ADVOCATE VOLUNTEER OUR WORK

Education

We all win when a child succeeds in school.

We support programs that assist children and youth to achieve their potential. Our children are the future of our community and need strong foundations on which to grow.

Our Goal:

Increase the percentage of Eastern Panhandle students who graduate from high school

We support programs and initiatives that:

Ensure children from low-income families have necessary skills when entering kindergarten

Help at-risk students maintain above average GPAs and attendance rates

Provide youth enrichment and leadership programs that increase interest in and commitment to education

Income

We all win when families are financially stable.

Ensuring everyone has the skills and support to gain and maintain employment is critical.  Families also need the knowledge and tools to manage their financial matters.

Our Goal:

Increase the number of families who earn enough to meet their basic needs

We support programs and initiatives that:

Provide transitional living services while helping individuals move into permanent housing

Help families develop financial literacy skills and build savings

Support individuals in improving their educational and employment status

Health

We all win when our community is healthy.

It is vital to ensure our community systems provide adequate access to health care and related services for our children, families and seniors.

Our Goal:

Increase the number of adults and children who have good health status and avoid risky behaviors

We support programs and initiatives that:

Assist low income, uninsured patients with diabetes and cardiac disease to better control their illness and avoid serious side effects

Provide family case management and mentoring services that help families deal with stressors that could lead to abuse and neglect

Encourage youth and adults to engage in healthy behaviors
