Annual Marvin J. Yurish Spirit Award: Each year the Marvin J. Yurish Spirit Award is awarded to a volunteer in recognition of consistent and outstanding support of United Way.   This award is in memory of the tremendous legacy of Mr. Yurish’s work with United Way and our community.

Annual Marvin J. Yurish Spirit Award:  Margie Bartles has a long history with our United Way.  From volunteer in the trenches, committee chair, campaign volunteer, funds distribution volunteer, board member, campaign chair and board president, she has worked in every aspect of United Way.  She's served on the United Way board since 1998, two three year board member terms and then moved through the officer positions for a total of nine years.  If we needed help, we could count on her to step in.  She's a selfless and untiring volunteer.  She also had the vision to understand that our United Way needed to grow to keep pace with the changing nature of the Panhandle and the changing role of United Way.  As President and Past President, she was self-less in her support of collaboration between the two United Ways, in her support of the Joint Merger Committee and in the merger process over this past year.  Congratulations and thank you, Margie!
