Sculpture Exhibit
The Arts Centre will feature the sculpture of Dow Benedict, "Dream House Revisited," April 11 to May 23. Visitors are invited to participate in the exhibit by creating their own small dream house. An opening reception will be from 5:00 to 8:00pm April 11. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.

Flower Sale
The Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County will host its annual Mother's Day flower sale from 2:00 to 6:00pm today and from 10:00am to 2:00pm Saturday at Domino's Pizza. There will be a large variety of plants including geraniums, hibiscus, mini roses, gerbera daisies, new guinea impatients, hanging baskets and more.

Flower Sale
The Shenandoah Women's Center will host a Mother's Day flower sale from 3:00 to 7:00pm today and from 9:00am to 4:00pm Saturday at the Shepherdstown BB&T Bank. In addition, they will sponsor a flower from 9:00am to 4:00pm Saturday in front of Teri's Premier Cafe in Morgan County.

Art Exhibit
Artist Jessie Lynn Courson will display her exhibit "Creation upon Creation" Saturday to June 1 in the Jean Heiler Art Gallery at the Old Opera House. Courson's work consists of vivid watercolors, ink and mixed media elements on paper. An artist's reception will be from 1:00 to 4:00pm May 17.

Berkeley County Meals on Wheels will sponsor its seventh annual Captain's Choice Scramble on May 12 at Stonebridge Golf Club. Shot gun start begins at 1:00pm. Advance registration is $60.00. Registration at the door is $65.00.

AIDS Walk
The Annual AIDS walk will be 6:30pm on May 18, rain or shine. Participants should assemble at the corners of King and Queen Street and proceed down King Street to WAr Memorial Park. The annual candlelight memorial observance will be at 7:00pm, followed by light refreshments. |
Basket Bingo
The Shenandoah Women's Center will hold its second annual basket bingo May 18 at the Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post 60 in Berkeley Springs. Door open at noon and bingo starts at 2:00pm. Tickets are $20.00 in advance or $25.00 at the door. Tickets are available at Roy's Service Center and Thomas A. Close, CPA in Berkeley Springs. There will be King Tuts, raffles, 50-50 and tip jars. Golf Tournament
The Rotary club of Charles Town will sponsor its ninth annual J.B. Smith Memorial Golf Tournament May 23 at Locust Hill Golf Course and Sleepy Hollow Golf & Country Club. Shotgun start will be at 1:00pm, a reception will follow at The Anvil Restaurant in Harpers Ferry. Cost is $100.00 per golfer, which includes the reception. Donation of items fro the silent auction are also welcome.

Bowl for Kids
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Panhandle will sponsor its annual "Bowl for Kids' Sake 2008" from 6:00 to 9:00pm May 30 at the Pikeside Bowl and rom 11:00am to 2:00pm May 31 at Shenandoah Lanes. Sponsorships are available, ranging from $150 to $500. Prizes will be awarded for the most money raised.
